This project encompasses the historical tradition of Beseit's pavements. In the past, the pavements of Beseit were built with stream pallets directly taken from the Matarranya river, that crosses the town. These pavements were built for carriages pulled by horses and people who used to walk through these streets. Nowadays these streets are only used by people, therefore the pavement will be slightly modified to be more comfortable and adjust to its needs. The project proposes a new pavement that uses a mixture of stream pallets on top of a concrete bed with a V shaped section which guides the rain water towards the center of the street where its channeled towards the sewers.
The street section has two different pallets on the pavement. The pedestrian circulations and facade limits are made with a smaller dimension pallet that ranges between two and four centimeters whilst the central stripe where rain water is collected is made with larger pallets that range from eight to ten centimeters. Larger sized pallets create more obstacles for the water streams and lowers its velocity, making it easier to channel to the sewers.
